Solution to uninstall LightWorks

No matter how much you might like the LightWorks , there are times when you need to uninstall it from you PC completely. This should be a pretty straightforward thing to do… When this happens, it can easily seem like you have no choice but to keep the software, but luckily, there’s a simple method to remove LightWorks completely from your PC. Normally, you would uninstall LightWorks by heading to START > CONTROL PANEL > ADD / REMOVE PROGRAMS, and then selecting the LightWorks , clicking the “uninstall” button as you go. This is the traditional and easiest way to do it, but it’s a method which is notorious for being clumsy and unreliable… often leading to you being unable to remove the program from your PC.

If this has happened to you, there’s actually a very simple way to uninstall LightWorks from your PC. You just need to do two things which will completely remove all traces of the program from your PC. You first need to delete all the program files that the LightWorks has, and then you need to remove any links the software has with Windows, removing it completely from your computer.

To do this, you first need to go into My Computer and remove any Program Files that the software has on your PC. These files tell you computer what to do and how to work the software, meaning that if you remove them, the software will literally be unable to function at all. To do this, you just need to browse to C:/PROGRAM FILES/. You need to find the folder where the software’s program files are kept and you need to delete it by pressing SHIFT + DELETE on it. This will completely remove the LightWorks files forever, not just putting them in the recycle bin.

The next thing you need to do is to remove all the “links” the LightWorks has with Windows. These links are in the form of registry keys, and are kept in a big database called the ‘registry’. These links tell Windows where the program is installed and how it works, etc. To remove these links, you simply need to open up REGEDIT.EXE (which is located in C:/Windows/) and then search for the program’s registry keys by pressing CRTL + F and search for the program name. This will bring up all the registry keys the program has, which you just need to go through and delete.

Although this is an effective way to uninstall LightWorks , it’s very risky, especially for someone who hasn’t done it before. Messing with the registry can severely damage your computer, which is why you might want to consider using an uninstaller program to get rid of it. These programs work very well to remove all the files and registry entries for a LightWorks , allowing you to get rid of them once and for all.
